Barbecue sauce stains are difficult to remove for two reasons, firstly the colourful pigments in the sauce dye the fabric that nice shade of dark red, and secondly, they contain oily residues as well. Due to the complex mix in the stain, it’s important to treat the stain as soon as possible with cold water, since hot water can set the stain, to see the best stain removal results. Also, a washing detergent, like Ariel, with bleaching agents helps remove BBQ sauce stains. Follow our Ariel stain solutions for tips on BBQ sauce stain removal.
Removing BBQ sauce stains
1
Remove excess
Scrape off any excess BBQ sauce stains from the garment before rinsing under warm, running water.
2
Pre-treat
Pour Ariel Original Washing Liquid directly onto the BBQ sauce stain.
3
Load
Without rinsing off the liquid detergent, place the garment into the wash with similar items. Leaving the washing detergent on the BBQ sauce stain will give your wash that extra boost of cleaning power.
4
Dose
You can also use the pre-treat cap to ensure you use the right amount of washing detergent. Just fill it with the correct dose of liquid detergent and place it directly into the drum of your washing machine, on top of your dirty laundry.
5
Wash
Wash on the usual cycle, on the hottest wash temperature indicated by the instructions on the garment’s care label.
6
Unload
When the cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.
