That deep red-purple colour is beetroot’s signature colour and instantly recognisable in dishes, but this powerful red colour can also turn your fabrics a shade of beetroot. It’s important you treat the beetroot stains the moment they appear on the garment. To help remove beetroot stains, use a detergent, like Ariel, with bleaching agents to remove the pigments and enzymes. Follow our Ariel stain solutions and tips for optimal beetroot stain removal to see outstanding results from the 1st wash.
Removing beetroot stains
1
Remove excess
Scrape off any excess beetroot stains from the garment before rinsing under cold, running water.
2
Soak
Soak the garment in a sink in a solution of warm water and Ariel Original Washing Powder for 30 minutes.
3
Remove excess
Repeat step 1 by scraping off any excess beetroot stains before rinsing again.
4
Pour
Pour Ariel Original Washing Liquid directly onto the beetroot stain.
5
Load
Without rinsing off the liquid detergent, place the garment into the wash along with similar items. Leaving the washing detergent on the beetroot stain will give your wash that extra boost of cleaning power.
6
Dose
You can also use the pre-treat cap to ensure that you use the right amount of washing detergent. Just fill it with the correct dose of liquid detergent and place it directly into the drum of your washing machine on top of your dirty laundry.
7
Wash
Wash on a cold water cycle. Always check the instructions on the garment’s care label.
8
Unload
When the cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.
